AMCHAM Myanmar in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and U.S. Commercial Service, Rangoon is organizing a Financial Services Trade Mission to Myanmar. The goal is to provide U.S. financial services firms an in-depth understanding of the market potential and discuss current roadblocks and possible solutions with high level decision makers and experts in government and the private sector.

Monday, July 24 – Yangon
Evening Arrival – Join the AMCHAM Myanmar monthly networking event to be held at the Strand Hotel.  An opportunity to meet with AMCHAM members operating on the ground in Myanmar.

Tuesday, July 25 - Yangon (Chatrium Hotel)

  • Country Team Briefing by Ambassador Scot Marciel and senior embassy staff
  • Meet:
    • Dr. Sean Turnell, Economic Advisor to State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi
    • U Aung Naing Oo, Secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA)
    • Dr. Sandar Oo, Director General of Myanmar Insurance
    • Local and foreign banks - learn through their experience and advice
    • Reception at the residence of Ambassador Scot Marciel

Wednesday, July 26 - Nay Pyi Taw

  • Minister of Finance & Planning. H.E. U Kyaw Win
  • Governor of Central Bank U Kyaw Kyaw Maung
  • Financial Regulatory Department (FRD)
  • Parliamentarians responsible for financial sector oversight and reform

Cost: USD 1,500 per person to cover meeting fees, lunch 2 days, 2 receptions and ground transportation in Nay Pyi Taw. Additional representatives from a company at USD 1,200 each.
