image-20240422104418-1 Anna Kompanek Director, Global Programs

Anna manages a portfolio of programs spanning emerging and frontier markets around the world in CIPE’s core themes of business advocacy, strengthening entrepreneurship ecosystems and institutional trust, economic inclusion, and organizational resilience. Prior to joining CIPE, Kompanek worked as a business consultant in Poland on the issues of competitiveness and market entry in Central and Eastern Europe, and in Washington, DC on the global strategy of major corporations. Kompanek holds a BA in International Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in German and European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and an MBA from George Mason University. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-International (CCEP-I) and a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management (IOM). She also holds a professional certificate from Babson College’s program “Driving Economic Growth Through Scale-Up Ecosystems” and a Mindful Leadership Certification from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.

image-20240422104602-2 Kim Eric Bettcher Director, Policy and Program Learning

Dr. Bettcher leads the Center for International Private Enterprise’s (CIPE) Policy and Program Learning (PPL) department, including knowledge management and applied research. PPL facilitates the international exchange of good practice, lessons learned, and policy options for democratic and market transitions. Dr. Bettcher has created numerous program resources for CIPE on democratic governance, private sector engagement, entrepreneurship ecosystems, public-private dialogue, and other themes. He also manages the secretariat of the Free Enterprise & Democracy Network. Bettcher has published articles in the Harvard Business Review, Party Politics, SAIS Review, Diplomatic Courier, and the Business History Review. He taught as an adjunct professor at George Mason University’s School of Public Policy and was previously a research associate at Harvard Business School. Bettcher holds a Ph.D. in political science from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College.

Stephen Rosenlund, Esq., CAE, IOM, is Deputy Director, Middle East and North Africa, and a leader of CIPE’s business association and chamber of commerce working group. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute of Organization Management (IOM), and a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). He received his B.A. from The George Washington University and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School. He is a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Steve practiced law for five years in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps, including a tour as an International Operations Officer with the Defense Institute of International Legal Studies. Previously he worked on the Central and Eastern Europe team at the International Republican Institute.
