Please join us for an introduction to the Mekong Infrastructure Tracker, the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and freely available web platform on infrastructure development in the Mekong Region.
This interactive discussion will introduce the Tracker and provide attendees with a suite of tools that can provide high-quality and objective data that can provide insights into the risks and opportunities of infrastructure development in a way that can improve long-term infrastructure outcomes in the Mekong Basin. The Tracker is hosted by the Stimson Center and supported by the USAID Mekong Safeguards activity, which is implemented by The Asia Foundation. This session is co-hosted by AMCHAM Myanmar and the US ASEAN Business Council.

About the speakers
Courtney Weatherby
Courtney Weatherby is a research analyst with the Stimson Center’s Southeast Asia program. Her work focuses on infrastructure and energy development challenges in Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific, particularly food-water-energy nexus issues in the Greater Mekong Subregion. Weatherby was lead author on the Stimson Center’s Mekong Power Shift report and the IUCN Sekong, Sesan, Srepok Basin Energy Profile and has authored and co-authored numerous short pieces for online publications including The Bangkok Post, Nikkei Asian Review, and China Dialogue. She served as a US-Japan-Southeast Asia Fellow at the East-West Center in Washington in early 2019. She has spoken publicly on panels at a variety of events and institutions including the National Bureau of Asian Research’s 2019 Pacific Energy Summit and the Greater Mekong Forum on Water, Food, and Energy. Before joining Stimson in 2014, Weatherby worked briefly with the Center for Strategic International Studies and the State Department. She holds a M.A. in Asian Studies from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and a B.A. in East Asian Studies with honors from Dickinson College.
Regan Kwan
Regan Kwan is a research associate with the
Southeast Asia Program at the Stimson Center. His research focuses on the
environmental and socioeconomic impact of development in the Greater Mekong
Subregion. He manages the technical aspect of the Mekong Infrastructure Tracker
project and leads the program’s data collection and management processes.
Before joining the Stimson Center, he worked as a consultant and research
assistant at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT).
Regan also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco. He holds a MPP from
the University of California, San Diego and a BA from the University of
California, Los Angeles.
