The Legal Committee and Myanmar Task
Force invite all AMCHAM members that are interested in intellectual property
and Myanmar to a joint meeting with the USPTO’s Southeast Asia Regional
Intellectual Property attaché, Mr. Peter Fowler. Peter has already made several visits to
Myanmar and will discuss the current state of IPR in that market and where
changes may be taking place.
In addition to a discussion on Myanmar, Peter will discuss the recent USTR 301
report (released 1 May 2013) and its effect on Thailand. Peter will also share some regional IPR
initiatives underway in ASEAN and APEC.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who plan to do business in
Myanmar to get a update on IPR protection and enforcement, and for those who
follow IP matters in region to get an update on Thailand and regional
initiatives.
