MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear AMCHAM Members,
On behalf of the Board of Governors and the AMCHAM Myanmar team, I would like to thank all members who participated in our Annual General Meeting. Your engagement, support, and constructive feedback contributed to a successful AGM and reaffirmed the strength of our Chamber community.
As we move forward, AMCHAM’s strategic priorities remain unchanged.
First, we will continue to focus on helping create an environment in which our members can successfully operate their businesses in Myanmar, including supporting efforts to secure urgently needed licenses, facilitate legitimate business operations and payments, and maintain commercial viability and profitability.
Second, we will continue to expand member engagement and strengthen our business community by providing meaningful opportunities for networking, collaboration, and dialogue. We will also continue impactful engagement with the communities we serve.
Third, we will continue to strengthen the Chamber’s governance, integrity, financial sustainability, and long-term institutional resilience.
As an American-centric business chamber, our core mission remains clear: to promote, protect, and expand American business in Myanmar.
Many members are aware that the Chamber has been addressing governance matters over the past year. While legal proceedings and related matters remain ongoing and it would not be appropriate to comment on them in detail, I would like to reassure members that the Board has taken necessary actions based on legal advice and its fiduciary responsibilities to protect the Chamber, its members, and its core mission.
AMCHAM Myanmar holds itself to the highest standards of integrity and governance. We have taken necessary steps to address conduct that fell short of those standards, and we remain fully committed to restoring and strengthening the trust, confidence, and capability that our members expect from us.
Unfortunately, recent events have included continued attempts to create confusion, spread misinformation, and undermine confidence in the Chamber’s leadership and governance processes. While such activities are regrettable, they only reinforce the importance of maintaining strong governance standards and remaining focused on the work that matters most to our members.
The Board remains committed to transparency, accountability, and open engagement. Every member is welcome to raise concerns, ask questions, and engage directly with the Board at any time through the appropriate channels.
Our focus remains firmly on serving our members, strengthening the Chamber, and advancing American business interests in Myanmar.
Thank you again for your continued trust, support, and participation.
Khin Maung Win
President
